This little beauty is one of the lovely glass pumpkins that are featured at the Morton Arboretum’s Glass Pumpkin Patch every October. The 2014 patch is sadly over, but it continued the long (ahem, four year) tradition of pretty shinnies and lovely leaves.
Girl Glass Studios and other local artists labor for months to create the 3,000+ glass pumpkins that are displayed and sold at the patch. The artists also demonstrate how they turn molten glass into shiny pumpkins in their live glass blowing demonstrations.
The Morton Arboretum is lovely every time of year, but it has a special beauty when most of its 1,700 acres are covered in vibrant fall foliage. If you’re ever in the area, we recommend you take a day to visit, but we also recommend finding yourself in the area around the middle of October so you can enjoy both events.
