Baymax Oscar

Some of you may have been waiting for the first of my freebie pieces and I am glad to finally have a lovely completed piece. This little guy is a heavily modified version of a piece I started working on (off and on…okay, mostly off) since December. When a certain award show aired, I decided that it could do with some modifications, but it set my deadline waaaay back.

A little while ago some of you might have watched the Oscars and been pleased or displeased with this year’s winners. Like most years, I didn’t even know what day they were and just caught up on the results after the fact. While I had mixed emotions about the results (best and whitest is right…), I was pleased to see that Big Hero 6 won. I may have some issues with the film, mostly its rampant sexism, but I still really enjoyed it and I think Baymax is my favoriteĀ animated “side kick” in a long while.

I know this all happened a little while ago, but I wanted to create something that commemorates this victory in my personal way. So I created this for you all. It took me a little longer than planned, but here he is! I hope you like him as much as I do and that when you’re done here, you spend a little quality time in San Fransokyo, either as a return trip or a first time visit.

Editor’s Choice: Lyrics

So come on all you fox-girls and you ghost-girls and you pretty pirates,

Come on all you wild girls and you lost girls and you shrinking violets,

Come and pay the piper, say you'll leave their war unwon.

It's only words on paper, and your story is not done.
